Corker Binning recognised in The Times Best Law Firms 2025

Corker Binning is pleased to have been recognised as one of the top three law firms for ‘Financial
Crime, Fraud and Regulatory’ work and commended for ‘Crime’ in The Times Best Law Firms 2025.

The annual list of the most highly recommended 250 law firms in England & Wales and the top 20 in
Scotland – which is voted for by solicitors and barristers – is published today.

Corker Binning has been included in The Times Best Law Firms for the seventh year running, since
the guide’s inception.

Describing the firm as a “leading criminal defence, fraud and regulatory law firm”, The Times
comments:

“High-profile work over the past year has included advising Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder,
who had faced extradition to America over espionage charges. After a 14-year legal battle, including
five years behind bars, Assange secured his freedom in June after agreeing a plea deal with US
prosecutors.

“Its lawyers advised Bernie Ecclestone, the business magnate and former Formula 1 chief executive,
alongside the City law firm Herbert Smith Freehills, in the criminal proceedings and civil tax
investigation brought by HM Revenue & Customs and the Crown Prosecution Service, which
concluded in October 2023. Ecclestone received a 17-month prison sentence, suspended for two
years, after pleading guilty to one count of fraud relating to a single misleading answer in a 2015
Code of Practice 9 interview, and agreed a £652.6 million civil settlement with HMRC.

“Corker Binning also advised a former Fujitsu employee in connection with the Post Office Horizon
scandal, in relation to the Metropolitan Police investigation and as a core participant in the
continuing public inquiry.”
