Edward Grange calls for the UK government to suspend extradition arrangements with Russia in a letter to The Times editor

Partner Edward Grange was featured in The Times’ Letters to the Editor section in the 26 February 2022 edition of the newspaper. He wrote:

“Sir, Now is an opportune moment for this government to suspend indefinitely extradition arrangements between the UK and Russia.

The Crown Prosecution Service continues to represent the Russian Federation in cases before the UK courts in which it submits that the court can “trust” diplomatic assurances given regarding human rights monitoring.

The foreign secretary was quick to announce the suspension of the Hong Kong/UK extradition treaty in 2020; will the present incumbent act as rapidly in relation to UK/Russian arrangements?”
