Partner Edward Grange has commented on the amendments to Extradition Act 2003 in Criminal Law Week.
Edward commented:
“This order makes Iceland and Norway Part 1 territories for the purpose of the 2003 Act as a result of the entry into force of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Iceland and the Kingdom of Norway on the surrender procedure between the Member States of the European Union and Iceland and Norway. The UK has indicated that it would very much like a similar surrender agreement with the EU when the UK’s ability to operate in the European Arrest Warrant scheme ceases at the end of the implementation period on 31 December 2020.”
Edward’s full comments can be read in Issue 10 of Criminal Law Week.
