Nick Barnard comments in Law360 on UWOs

Senior Associate Nick Barnard has been quoted in Law360 on the High Court ruling in which three unexplained wealth orders (UWOs) were dismissed.

“There are 101 reasons you might use an offshore structure and 100 are legitimate. The judge reiterated that it is completely insufficient without more to say the use of offshore structures is evidence of unlawful conduct. It was a bit of a slap on the wrist over the NCA’s failure to acknowledge they needed more,” Nick stated.
