BIOGRAPHY & EXPERTISE
Eve qualified as a Solicitor at a firm specialising in general crime and road traffic offences and joined Corker Binning as an Associate in November 2023.

 

Areas of Expertise

Eve is an Accredited Police Station Representative with experience in representing individuals for a range of offences including fraud, violent and sexual crime. Eve has experience of representing individuals in both custody and voluntary interviews, including for youths, vulnerable adults and those that require the use of an interpreter.

Eve has particular expertise in making representations for bail, particularly when individuals attend the police station voluntarily and are then arrested.

Eve has a wide range of experience litigating both Magistrates and Crown Court matters, preparing cases for trial, offences range from drink/drug driving to manslaughter and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Eve is an active member of the Young Fraud Lawyers Association.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS
  • Represented clients at the police station accused of serious offences including assaults, firearms and assisting offenders.
  • Conducting advocacy in the Crown Court to make JIC bail applications.
  • Representing an ex-police officer for stalking and harassment offences.
  • Assisted in cash seizure proceedings, prosecuted by the HMRC and involved witnesses giving evidence from different countries, namely Greece and Lithuania.
  • Assisted in preparation of a successful special reasons argument, conducted research by attending the site of the incident to photograph all CCTV cameras that the prosecution submitted were unavailable.
  • Assisted in Crown Court trials involving high profile individuals charged with conspiracy to defraud, namely expenses fraud, resulting in an acquittal for one and a suspended sentence for the other.
Career

Eve qualified as a Solicitor in August 2023 and joined Corker Binning in November 2023.

Eve read Law with Criminology (LLB) and completed her LLM Legal Practice Course, specialising in human rights at Nottingham Law School and graduated in 2021. Eve also undertook the Path to Professional Practice at Nottingham Law School, achieving a Distinction.  Eve then became an Accredited Police Station Representative in June 2022.

Prior to joining Corker Binning, Eve worked as a Paralegal since 2019 at a market leading personal injury firm. Eve also has Paralegal experience working in family law, in particular working on behalf of the local authority.

Eve has volunteered with Citizens Advice in the court based role, supporting witnesses to give evidence. She has also volunteered with the Nottingham Legal Advice Centre to offer pro-bono advice on the Miscarriage of Justice Project to re-investigate cases, review evidence and seek to have cases referred back to the CCRC.
