Paul provides advice from the early stages of an investigation through to trial and merits of appeal. He also provides advice and assistance to potential witnesses or individuals that have received a request to attend court to give evidence or produce documents.
Areas of expertise
Paul has particular experience in crisis and reputation management, advising professionals from the finance, music, medical, sports, political and teaching professions in relation to serious and complex investigations and prosecutions. As such, he is often called on to advise in parallel regulatory and/or disciplinary proceedings.
He provides expert and discreet representation to high-profile individuals, including those in the entertainment industry and professionals, on a range of serious criminal matters.
Paul trained and then qualified in 1998 at a large provincial firm and then practised in a West End firm from 1999 to 2002. He joined the team at BCL Burton Copeland in 2003 and became a partner in 2006, heading BCL Solicitors’ Serious and General Crime practice for several years until his departure. Paul holds a degree in Law (LLB Hons) and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law before embarking on his career in criminal litigation.
