Partner Peter Binning has been quoted in The Financial Times discussing Covid loan fraud. Recent court cases have shed light on how criminal gangs exploited government schemes and the difficulty of recouping significant sums.
Peter states, “It’s pretty clear that the government had the intention of getting money out as quickly as possible to the public and they took no adjacent steps to put in place counter fraud measures. Once the money has got out . . . the chances of recovering it are low.”
