Partner Robert Brown has been recognised in the Spear’s 500 2019 for Top Recommended Criminal Lawyers.
According to Mark Haslam, Robert Brown remains ‘one of the major players in this field’. Brown has recently shifted focus away from corporates to individuals: ‘Clientele remains predominantly London based, still with a large number of Russian nationals,’ he says. He also notes an increase in ‘business with new clients from China, as well as the Far Eastern jurisdictions’. Recent work includes a number of instructions with ‘clients seeking advice in relation to allegations of sexual misconduct’. He has in the past successfully defended a former Soviet general tried for espionage and high treason, and acted for a celebrity chef charged with alleged traffic violations. Other clients have included Charles Saatchi and Vicky Pryce.
